Turkmen Alabai (The Central Asian Shepherd Dog)
Freya is my Alpha-Mama Livestock Guardian Dog, and she’s really the one in charge here at Ranger’s Guardian Dogs.
Commonly known as The Central Asian Shepherd Dog (aka, Turkmen Wolf-Hound).
Freya’s breed comes from the country of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen Alabai Dog is actually the oldest-known, and the ONLY true pure-bred Livestock Guardian Dog on Earth (dating as far back as 7,000 BC).

Here’s Freya as a Puppy
Even when she was just a little pup, Freya was very alert and aware of her surroundings.
That’s why I chose Freya to be the Alpha-Mama Livestock Guardian Dog here at Ranger’s Guardian Dogs.
In this short video here of Freya as a little puppy, you can see where her attentive personality sprouted.
You also get to see some of her sibling’s, and where she got her start in life.

Freya’s Parents: Origins of Her Bloodline
Freya’s Mom: Pure-bred Turkmen Alabai Dog
Both of Freya’s parents (mom & dad) originated from the same kennel, called Midislander Unique (in Hungary).
Here’s a picture of Freya’s mom. Her name is Alara Kan Atila.
Both are pure-bred Turkmen Alabai dogs.
Both are double-registered (FCI and UKC-registered) and OFA Health-Tested and Certified.

Dakar sure is a handsome pure-bred Turkmen Alabai, isn’t he?
As you can see from this picture, Freya looks more like her dad than her mom.
